That’s right folks, Heather and I are legally on the UK Nurse Register! Better yet, we have a job, to start Monday Feb 13th! We will both be working at the Royal Sussex County Hospital in the ITU (Intensive Care) and HDU (High Dependency Unit aka step down). For those interested can check it out….
We also have a home! We will be living in the small beach town of Brighton. Our flat is cute! And what’s really great, it’s just the two of us! It is a split level place, 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom. The kitchen is tiny but to make up for it, our living room has a view of the ocean! Check it out!!!

For now we are still relaxing in Agadir, soaking up the sun and clearing our minds, making way for all the new data we are about to learn. In the UK, nurses run their own ventilators and mix all there meds, on top of what we normally do. Also, apparently the lab values and names of tests are very diiferent as well. For example, a blood glucose is called a BM, a normal value is 5-7 or something. For my non-medical friends, a BM in the US is a bowel movement. So if you give me report saying a BM times 5, I’m thinking “Great, now I get to clean poo all day”… Its going to be a game of Jeopardy, English as a Second Language please 🙂
